Synopsis

9-year-old Eia wants nothing more than to celebrate Christmas with her father and mother. Her parents are always so busy. Her father is an architect and has assignments from all over the world. Her mother is a ballerina and often away from home for performances and dance tours. Eia misses her family.

If it suddenly turns out that both her parents have to go abroad for work, instead of celebrating Christmas at home, the girl unexpectedly spends her winter vacation with her grandfather. Until that moment she did not know that she had a grandfather.

The visit comes as a complete surprise for Eia. But after the first shock, she experiences a warm, nice family, makes a new best friend, finds out why her father didn’t want her to know grandpa. And Eia discovers a rare, endangered bird in the winter wonderland. That way she saves a beautiful primeval forest from clearing and destruction. The Christmas story ends in a reconciliation between the grandfather and the father. The whole family celebrates a special reunion and a beautiful New Year’s Eve party
