Sing Song

Synopsis

When 16-year-old Jasmine gets the chance to participate in a song contest in Suriname, she grasps it with both hands. Not only to sing but especially to find out more about her mother, whom she has not seen since she left Suriname with her father as a toddler. Because her father no longer wants anything to do with Suriname, she secretly goes to her exotic homeland with guitarist Stijn (17). He to make music and win the competition. She also to find her mother, but nobody knows that. Once there, she is faced with unpleasant surprises. In the search for her mother, she is in trouble, which not only jeopardizes her participation in the song contest but also her friendship with Stijn. Everything seems to be lost, until she is surprised by a discovery that turns everything upside down. She decides to follow the trail that leads her deep into the interior of Suriname and hopes to find what she has longed for. SING SONG is a swinging musical film about discovering your roots.
