Synopsis

Bertram and his family are not well off. When his mother has to be hospitalized, it is especially difficult to make ends meet. When Bertram, Anders, Oskar, Winni and their father are kicked out by the bailiff, they move in with their Uncle Georg out of necessity. Georg devises an absurd plan to kidnap a rich boy to get some money and hopes for the help of his nephews and niece. At first they refuse, but when their father also finds himself at home unemployed, they join in anyway. But Uncle Georg's ideas never go as planned.
